At a guest house at the moment, and couldn’t help wondering about the Samsung HDTV flat screen mounted on the wall. Most hotel rooms have these too. I wonder if anyone uses them — I’ve never so much as turned one on. I’m not sure if this facility was relevant even when cable was a thing.

Especially at academic institutes (can’t say about hotels), seems like a totally avoidable expense. In the unlikely event that someone needs a screen for, say, an external monitor setup, I figure having a few that can be brought in on request would be a fairly reasonable workaround…
